About us

Who are we?

We are Maarten en Dianne Hoogendam. Enjoying countrylife together with our two kids. In our daily life working at the municipality of Midden-Delfland and GGZ Delfland.

In 2008 we had the opportunity to take over the former farm from our parents. In order to guarantee the maintenance of this former farm, we came up with the idea to convert the old carriage barn and pigstay into two luxury apartments. Here the authentic front view has been retained, by bringing the style of the old doors back into the facades. The original floor from the pigsty have been reused for the terrace. And the stable windows have also been given a new place. In 2017 the old haystack was demolished and newly built as a modern four-person holiday home in original hexagon shape, with traditional thatched roof and heavy wooden poles. The former cow barn was converted into a mobile home storage years ago.

Occupation & Surroundings

Aan de Kwakel owes its name to the high footbridge, which connects the dead and street with the footpath which leads through the meadows to the village churches of Maasland.

The three holiday homes with a view to the open landscape. Are located between the villages Maasland and Schipluiden. Only 9 km from Delft, and less than 20 km from The Hague and Rotterdam center. And 16 km from Hook of Holland beach. The big river rhine is only 6 km away, so the South Holland islands and the port of Rotterdam are also nearby.

We would like to let you enjoy the outdoors. The tranquility, space and the beautiful panoramic views over meadows with cows and sheep in the ancient landscape. Which is home to the black-tailed godwits in spring and thousands of geese in winter.
